The small district located very close to Istanbul city center received its name from the great Ottoman Architect Sinan. Located on the coast of Buyukcekmece Bay, the area is getting more and more popular every day for its fast developing residential areas. The coastline in the area however is still mostly undeveloped.

A marina project in the area adjacent to an existing fishery port has been in development stage for some time by the Investor Nehirli AS.  Following the inclusion of ARTI in the project team last year, the planning and feasibility studies speed up and structural design works of the marine facilities has been completed in a very short time. Besides design works, ARTI carried out wave and current modeling investigations, basin water quality and  sedimentation assessment studies.

With inclusion of a ferry pier inside the marina, it is aimed to provide passenger traffic in and out of the marina by scheduled boat trips from Istanbul city center. The marina will also have shopping and entertainment features to attract weekend visitors to the area.

The construction is scheduled to start by the end of 2007 summer.
