Kas Marina
A typically picturesque small coastal town in
the southern Turkish region of Antalya, Kaş is located at the very
centre of the ancient Lycian civilization and is today renowned for
its natural beauty and underwater treasures, which attract divers
from all across the globe. In May 2011, the town welcomed the
opening of the much anticipated Kaş Marina, a BOT model project
commenced by the Turkish Ministry of Transportation in 2006. The
project’s contractor, Makyol Construction, will now operate the
marina
in partnership with
Turkish marina operator Setur for
the next 25 years.
ARTI Proje was the main consultant and designer of
Kaş Marina, providing extensive services to Makyol over the past 4
years, including planning, feasibility studies, project and
investment management, structural design, wave and water quality
investigations, construction supervision, procurement assistance and
marketing support. ARTI Proje has also been Makyol’s consultant for
the company’s other marine investments throughout this period.
The new marina accommodates up to 472 boats,
inclusive of super and mega yachts, and houses a large dry storage
area equipped with the latest technical facilities. With an
innovative landscape design, numerous cafes, shops, restaurants and
an open air swimming pool offering an amazing view, Kaş Marina is
set to become one of the Mediterranean region’s favoured
destinations.
