Port Gocek Marina

If it is such a
special place like Gocek you are investing at, environmental aspects
of your investment should be evaluated very carefully. This was indeed
the case for Port Gocek. Assesment of environmental impacts, design of
necessary precautions against any risks,
sharing of this information with public and approval authorities had
been given the main priority at the planning
stage.
The investor
group Enternasyonel started engineering studies in
1996 to determine the water quality conditions in Gocek bay and the
possible impacts of the planned marina on environment. As a part of
engineering team, ARTI Proje carried out
hydrodynamic and water quality model tests to investigate the marina's
interaction with environment.
The tests were supported by 1-year long field measurements of
currents and quality paremeters. The model results played a
significant role especially in exchange of information with public.
ARTI's scope of studies also included
wave disturbance modeling for the marina. Being located in a naturally
protected bay, Port Gocek was designed with floating type breakwater
and piers. It was therefore, very important to test the performance of
the floating breakwater for user comfort and mooring safety.
The marina is operated by Camper
and Nicholsons of UK. The architectural design is developed by WATG
of USA.
