Beach Nourishment
Besides
its complexity, sediment transport under
wave and current action or simply beach
erosion is a common problem easily
magnified by human activities in the coastal zones. Presence of
structures further complicates the problem by interfering with the
transport rates either in direct or indirect ways.
ARTI Proje offers unique services in this very specific
field of coastal engineering. We are mostly experienced in beach nourishment
studies carried for hotels and
holiday resorts in order to enlarge their
existing beach facilities or to stop the
erosion they are having in
their beaches. In some of those projects,
we converted rocky shores into sandy beaches created beaches from
scratch.
Attempting to change the sediment
balance in coastal regions by means of
engineering methods means direct intervention with the nature.
Thus, it
requires detailed investigations, precise
calculations and extensive monitoring for
achieving desired results. The numerical
modeling technology we are currently
applying in beach nourishment studies
enables us to analyse sediment
transport mechanisms and interpret the
impact of developed designs accuretly. |
