Avsallar Marine Wastewater Discharge
Avsallar is a small holiday town in
Alanya region of southern Turkey and very popular for its long and
beautiful sandy beaches. Avsallar wastewater marine
outfall design study was tendered in 1999 by Turkish Development Bank
on behalf of the main client, Ministry of Tourism as a part of
wastewater collection and treatment plant construction project.
Since it is located in such a popular tourism
area and the discharge line had to cross the beach areas;
it was very important to develop a design with zero water pollution
risk.
The outfall pipe was designed as Ø 560 mm
HDPE to discharge average wastewater volume of 15,000 m3/day.
The length of the pipeline was determined to be 1260 m to make the
discharge at 20 m depth.
All field surveys including bathymetrical,
oceanographical, geotechnical and seismic were carried out by ARTI
Proje besides the final engineering design of the outfall. |
