ARTI Proje is awarded
a recent contract for master planning studies of Kemer Marina.
The study will aim to asses development plans and associated
financial analyses for the marina. Kemer Marina is one of the
most popular and prestigious marinas in Turkey and currently
holds in excess of 200 berths.
The marina has recently been
purchased by Ahsel Holding, a major Turkish tourism
investing and contracting group widely active in international
projects, especially in Kazakhstan.

Port Privatizations
Thanks to
recent acceleration in privatization of commercial ports in Turkey,
we continue with new assignments for providing consulting
services to giant national and international port operators participating in tenders.
Following
the recent tender for Petkim Port, we started technical
assesment, port planning and cost estimation studies for Derince
Port upon inquiry from leading players in the port sector. We carry
out assessment of marine structures and evaluate capacity increment
possibilities in the port. Our output is directly
used by the tenderer's feasibility team preparing the financial analysis for
the port. July 2007.
Kas
Marina
Following
the conclusion of BOT tender procedures, a contract for consulting
services was recently signed between the owner MAK-YOL and ARTI
Proje. The consulting services will include technical assistance to
project management of MAK-YOL and coordination of project
teams that will involve in design of the marina facilities.
Another
contract is also lately awarded to ARTI Proje to carry out modelling
studies to investigate the wave conditions inside Kas Marina. The
modeling studies aim to determine the best breakwater type and size
suitable for
the marina. July 2007.
Kas and Mersin Yacht Harbors
Our designs for
Kas and Mersin Yacht Harbours got the highest technical scores in
recent Built-Operate-Transfer marina tenders of Ministry of
Transportation. As a result of getting highest technical rank, the
tenderers we developed the designs for will most likely be awarded
the projects.
Kas is a small
town at southern Turkey and is an popular diving center, famous with
its underwater treasures. We prepared the 400-berth marina design
for MAK-YOL Construction Co. which is one of the leading contracting
groups of the country.
Mersin is located
more east on the southern coast and close to boat traffic from
Middle East. We carried out design and feasibility services for the
tenderer ERS Construction Co. with whom we have been working for
Bodrum Cruise Ship Terminal since 2003.

Beaches of Kadikoy
Swimming around
Istanbul city had always been considered dangerous in
the past due to very high pollution rates. Following the
considerable improvement in the seawater
quality, swimming along the coastline of its Kadikoy
district seems to be a popular pastime for
the city residents. Last year, Kadikoy Municipality had opened
several beaches by bringing sand from outer sources and this attempt
had received a wide interest from public.
ARTI Proje agreed
on a protocol with Kadikoy Municipality to carry out engineering
studies to develop the beach areas inside the municipal
coastline. The studies will aim
to determine the areas to be developed by means of artificial beach
nourishment schemes, prepare relevant structural designs and
supervise construction activities. The new beaches are expected to
be opened before 2006 summer season.

Albatros
Marina
Though currently being operated mainly
as dry storage and maintenance area, the Albatros Marina has large
potential to be converted to a large and high-quality marina in
Marmaris Bay. As sub-consultant to Dokay Engineering Ltd. we have
provided consulting services to the Marina Owner to develop layout
plans, make model tests for wave action and produce conceptual
design of marina structures.

Kocaeli
Municipality Coastal Zone Projects
Kocaeli Municipality is responsible
from a very long coastline surrounding whole Izmit Bay. Several very
large landscape design and construction projects are currently
underway in the region to develop earthquake-hit municipal coastline
into a pleasant waterfront for its residents.
ARTI Proje was selected by the
municipality as the principal marine consultant to provide
engineering services in their all waterfront and coastal projects.

Marmaris
Cruise Port
Marmaris Port is one of the most
important cruise ports of the country with significant increase in
number of passengers in last few years. In order to respond to
expanding demand from shipping companies, the Port Operator
considers enlarging existing facilities to create new berthing
spaces for biggest cruise ships.
The port Owner has assigned ARTI Proje the planning and design
studies to investigate the possibilities of port capacity increase.
The studies will include bathymetrical and geotechnical surveys as
well as the conceptual design of new port structures.
The services are being carried out as
sub-consultant to Dokay Engineering and Consultancy Ltd.

Preliminary Design and Feasibility Studies for Gulluk Bulk Cargo
Port
We
provided consultancy services to Aryapý - Gulport - Cakiroglu
consortium in the Built - Operate - Transfer tender opened by
Ministry of Transportation for Gulluk Port. Our services covered the
development of conceptual planning and design of the port structures
including marine and land parts, as well as feasibility studies of
the investment.
The
exisiting pier in Gulluk is mainly used in exporting feldspar to
Europe and has a current loading capacity around 1.8 million tons
per year. The new port aims to replace the existing facilities by
building modernized port facilities with high capacity loading
equipment, sufficient land area and improved highway connection.

Design and
Feasibility Studies for Bodrum Cruise Ship Terminal
It
is lately announced that the BOT tender for Bodrum Cruise Ship
Terminal is awarded to the partnership formed by ERS Construction Co
and SETUR. ARTI had prepared the winning design and feasibility
studies for the partnership. After completion of the official
procedures, we are hoping to start the final design works in coming
weeks.
The project aims
to make Bodrum one of the major stops of the cruise lines to Eastern
Meditteranean and Aegean Sea. The terminal will have a 200 meter
pier for cruise ships and 4 quays for the ferries sailing between
Greek Islands and Bodrum. November 2003
"Pre-tender" design
and consultancy services in Mersin Marine Outfall Project
The tender for the
construction of Mersin City Wastewater Treatment Plant and Marine
Outfall was held in early April. Due to lack of sufficient technical
data on the marine part, the participating contractors had
difficulties in estimating BOQ and preparing their proposals. ARTI
Proje Consulting in collaboration with STFA Engineering Co. provided
preliminary design and consultancy services to the contractors to
-
estimate the pipe
size and the material,
-
evaluate the
possibilities of optimizing the line length
-
review the
geotechnical conditions in the area
-
develop a full BOQ
The original
design by the Client estimates the outfall line will have a total
length of 6500 m. and will require pipe diameter of 1600 mm.

TEFER Flood Forecast and Early Warning System Project is
successfully completed
The TEFER
Project, carried out for State Hydraulic Works, (DSI) and financed
by the World Bank, aimed the development of flood early warning
system for four major catchments of Turkey.
ARTI Proje Consulting was subconsultant to DHI Water and Environment
of Denmark in the project and provided both modelling and project
management services. The other sub-consulting partners were Einfalt
from Germany and UBM from Turkey.
The system
basically uses the online field data including water level, rainfall,
radar images for areal rainfall, temperature and evaporation to
simulate the hydraulic conditions in the catchments. The core of the
modelling system is based on the software MIKE11. The forecast
results are presented in the form of GIS based flood maps in
addition to regular graphic, table and report formats. System also
has an internet interface to publish the forecast results via
internet.
